Meet your speaker
Christina is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a Bachelors Degree in Human Nutrition. She enjoyed the subject so much that she ended up continuing her education at UK by going to graduate school in an effort to be a Registered Dietitian. Out of all of the areas of dietetics, she enjoyed community the best.
In 2011, Christina began working for the Women, Infants, and Children program as a Nutrition Specialist at the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department. From there, she enhanced her career by taking on a supervisory role in the public health clinic. The clinic setting allowed her to broaden her knowledge regarding public health as a whole. In 2016, the WIC Team Leader position became available and she was promoted. Christina enjoys her profession because there is a lot of room for growth and knowledge. She enjoys educating our community in an effort to help parents raise healthier children in which starting from birth is vital. She fell into this profession unsure of where it would take her but is slowing realizing there are vast arrays of opportunities.
